Hi Ninjajon,

We most certainly can help! The 7049 is the same family as the Advent 7036, 7037, 7038, 7039 & 7046 machines, and shares the same network adapter as the 7036, 7037 and 7046, which is a Realtek 8139/810x. The remaining machines use Broadcom 440.

We have a thread here about the complete specs of all this family models, click HERE to view it.

We currently have the 7039 drivers stored in our downloads area, we're in the process of re-organising everything. Click HERE to access it, and download the LAN driver.

Let us know if you need anything else.

Hi

thanks for the reply, unfortunately i already have that driver. I was a little Vague in my previous Email.

Do you know where i can get the wireless network controller? The one on the Medion website doesn't install (no setup.exe). Puzzled, baffled, and slightly cheesed off with this laptop.

Someone must be able to help :smt017

Hi Jon,

The driver doesn't have a Setup.exe file, for reasons known only to Medion or Prism, the card manufacturer. It has to be installed through Device Manager. Go into Device Manager, right click the wireless controller, Click Update Driver, from specified folder, and point it to the extracted folder.

Don't bother with the utility, I like to use the Windows Zero config tool.

All should be fine. Make sure your hotkeys are installed, otherwise the WLAN cannot be turned on/off with the hotkey.
