On some computers with the Welcome Screen enabled, access to the Administrator account is disabled, as the account doesn't show up. This is for security reasons.

A quick way round it is to override the Welcome Screen, and get to Classic Logon, as follows:

1. When your computer is sat at the Welcome Screen, hold CTRL & tap DEL twice. To get back to the Welcome Screen, perform the combo again.

2. Next, type Administrator (or whatever the account is called, some machines have different names) in the Username box, and the password for that account. Some PC's may have a different name, for example, our Kitamura OEM disc has the Administrator account username set to Owner. We did this to prevent hacking.

3. There is also an Options button on the Classic logon screen. Clicking will present different options depending on the system configuration. In this example it adds the Shut Down... button that is self-explanatory. If the system is connected to a domain there would be a Log On To: option available where domains could be specified.

Check your computer documentation, or if it's a self should have wrote it down! Some machines will not allow the Classic Logon, more on that soon.

Note that a machine on a domain will always have the Classic Logon screen, and cannot be switched back, unless it is removed from the domain and placed back into a Workgroup.
